The Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre (MBMC) is an academic research and training centre focused on behavioural medicine, clinical trials, epidemiology, and psychophysiology. The MBMC is based at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal (HSCM) which is part of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Nord-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS-NIM) and uses a number of its facilities.

The Canadian Behavioural Interventions and Trials Network

Led by Drs. Simon Bacon and Kim Lavoie, the Canadian Behavioural Interventions and Trials Network (CBITN) is a CIHR-funded platform that brings together international experts from healthcare, government, industry, academia, and behavioural medicine (i.e., the study of how behaviours that impact disease development can be changed to improve people’s lives). The network will develop and deliver a variety of innovative training opportunities for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, medical, and allied health students across Canada.

Position overview

The MBMC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated National Mentoring Network Coordinator to help the platform leads manage the planning, coordination, and delivery of a variety of mentoring and training activities. These include: summer school courses, experiential internships, scholarship funding, professional skill-building workshops, training courses, and networking events. The National Mentoring Network Coordinator will work with existing MBMC staff and leverage other staff expertise from Concordia, UQAM, and the CIUSSS-NIM.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning, setup and running of mentoring and training activities across Canada
  • Coordinate the development of a mentoring and training toolkit
  • Create and coordinate project timeline, logistics plan, and task schedule
  • Coordinate and facilitate all meetings including drafting agendas, preparing and sharing meeting materials and taking minutes
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities
  • Monitor and track platform activities and requirements
  • Help support and guide participants
  • Prepare and submit project reports and summaries
  • Collaborate on the development and dissemination of promotional materials and strategies
  • Work with wide-ranging project partners, including researchers, healthcare professionals and organisations, industry, students, and patients
  • Perform any additional tasks deemed necessary

Required qualifications:

  • Completed university diploma (BA / BSc or above)
  • Experience in research training activity planning and coordination

  • Dynamism and autonomy / ability to take the initiative
  • Versatility and ability to work in a team
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and judgment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in both French and English
  • Ability to work with a variety of partners, including patients and community partners
  • Ability to use all MS Office Suite products as well as Teams, Zoom, and other platforms

Status and benefits:

  • Full-time position, 35 hours per week, daytime Monday to Friday, occasional evenings/weekends
  • Location of work: Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal
  • Hybrid in person/remote work may be negotiated
  • Starting date: as soon as possible
  • One-year contract, with possibility of renewal
  • Salary in accordance with qualifications
  • 15 days of vacation per year after one year
  • 13 statutory holidays
  • 10 non-convertible sick days
  • Pension plan (RREGOP) from the first day of employment
  • Salary range: 28$ to 30$/hour, 35 hours a week
