The impact of daily psychological stress at work on occupational asthma and work related asthma (SPEAR)

Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal

This study aimed to assess how psychological stress impacts the experience asthma symptoms (e.g., breathlessness, cough) and lung function (e.g., daily variability of peak flow) in the workplace and to identify the physiological mechanisms underlying this association.

Impact of psychiatric disorders on asthma and occupational outcomes in patients under investigation for occupational asthma (OASIS)

Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur de Montréal

Contribute to determining the extent to which varying degrees of psychological stress (from moderately elevated scores on measures of anxiety and depression to meeting diagnostic criteria for a clinically significant psychiatric disorder) can negatively impact occupational, health and quality of life outcomes in patients who present with asthma-like symptoms in the workplace.

Mechanisms of elevated blood clotting during acute psychological stress (CAPS)

Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal

This study aims to identify how psychological stress increases clumping, or clotting, of the blood, and to identify whether physiological responses to psychological stress are related to the development of heart disease in the future or to future heart events in those who already have heart disease.
